What is the EU EES System 2024?

The EU visa waiver rules 2024 include the two main changes. The first one is about the Entry and Exit System or EU EES system, and the second one is about the European Travel Information and Authorization System or ETIAS. Both rules require non-EU passport holders to provide the required information.

Who Need to Use EES?

EES is intended for non-EU citizens entering Schengen countries for short stays. Every time, non-EU nationals cross the external borders of any of the European countries using EES system. Non EU citizens, citizens of non-Schengen countries including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland and other non-EU countries need to go through EES. EU countries where ESS will start working include:
